Some of you may have arrived at the site yesterday or today, and noticed some minor changes to the appearance. We’ve been testing a few styles and today we went live (as in, everyone can see it) with one of them. The header area is a bit smaller now, giving you more visual space to work with (more room for offer walls, arcade games, forum posts, etc.) We’ll continue to optimize the layout to make it work better for everyone. Continue reading to learn more about what we’re currently doing, and at the end of this post, there’s a surprise that you definitely want to know about, unless you don’t like free stuff!

Menu Changes

The “Get Points” dropdown menu has been rearranged. Everything that was on it before, is still there, just better organized. Hover-over “Play Games” and a new menu will slide out, with links to the arcade games, Game of the Month, and social games. The Tell a Friend item is similar. Hovering over it will reveal links for the Referral Dashboard, referral tips, and our web banners and pre-made link codes.

You will also find a new item, titled “Settings” on the menu (all the way to the right), which allows you to edit your profile. This link use to be available in the blue header at the top of the site, but it makes more sense to have it on the menu. You need to be logged into your account to see the Settings button.

New Offer Wall

If you’ve been to the offer wall page today, you might have seen a new wall, Virool.

Virool may sound familiar, because Matomy’s videos are often through Virool. We’ve decided to work with Virool directly, giving us more power over what videos are displayed, and how many points you can receive (many 3 point videos on Matomy, can be watched for 10 points on Virool.)

Is it OK to watch the same video twice? Yes. If Virool displays the video a second time, you may watch it again. If you abuse this (won’t say how, but you can’t “accidentally” do it, so don’t worry), you will be banned from the Virool wall.

Virool works different than most walls. You may only see 1 or 2 videos on the wall. Watch them, and more will be added (if available.) So far a few users have racked up over 250 points just from Virool since we published the wall this morning.

What’s the surprise?!

This coming Monday, March 11th, through March 22nd, we’ll be hosting our March contest. All we can say at this time is that the prize is a $100 Amazon gift card (to whatever Amazon site you prefer to use, but the prize value will be $100 USD.)

It’ll be simple to enter, and we’ll be doing this on a more regular basis this year. Instead of having 3 or 4 big contests like prior years, this year we plan to have several, with slightly smaller prizes. This gives more people a chance to win, which is a good thing for our members.
