A few weeks ago we asked you to ask us anything. Today, we’re happy to say we’ve got some answers to your questions. We’ve hand selected the best questions and have included them in today’s blog post.
A few of the questions have been modified for a number of reasons, but we made sure to keep them in the spirit of the original question, and to give each person credit for contributing to this post.
Why did you feel the need to create Loot Palace, and how long has it been around? Do you feel the website is running great?
(Asked by alicat)
Loot Palace was launched officially in May of 2011. Throughout 2010, Dan was running a smaller version of Loot Palace which just offered Nexon cash and Nintendo Points. We were regularly getting requests for other types of gift cards so we merged our different websites and branded under one name.
We created Loot Palace to provide another alternative to the other reward programs out there. When we looked at how they handled many aspects of the business, we felt there were areas that could be drastically improved. Most notably, the customer service, with exception to a few programs out there, was beyond sub-par. I don’t mean to come off negative and won’t name any names, but I’m sure many of you can relate to this. I hear people talk about this every day in our chat room talk about how getting support from the people running these types of websites is like pulling teeth. I feel that this is where we excel. We respond to every single email, support ticket, or message we receive.
Why did you choose the name of the website Loot Palace?
(Asked by Saphalya)
We spent a large amount of time creating a list of possible names for the new brand. We narrowed the list down to about 10, from 50+ names. Next, we polled the members of our former reward programs to give their input. This helped us narrow it down, eventually leaving us with Loot Palace.
Where do you guys get the money to buy all these gift cards, and do they actually work?
(Asked by ninjastar38)
Whenever you earn points from completing an offer, watching a video, or after you take a survey, we’ve received payment from the advertiser for your work. We use this money to buy your free gift cards.
They are guaranteed to work, as we buy all of the gift cards from authorized merchants, or directly from the card’s original (eg: your Amazon gift card is bought and sent to you through Amazon’s website.)
Do you plan to launch a phone app for the site? If so, which OS and when?
(Asked by aleque36)
We’re really excited to announce that the new mobile layout for the website is on the brink of being launched. It’ll be optional to use, full featured (with exception to the chat system), and will work great on both Android and iOS. Once it’s ready, we will migrate it into the App stores as well.
Do you send gift cards to any country or is it limited? And do you send only the number of the gift card or send the gift card?
(Asked by Decaum)
That’s a good question. All of our gift cards are sent out by email, so you’ll receive the codes. Many of our free gift cards are even printable, like the Red Lobster and Dunkin Donuts gift cards to name a few.
Why does Loot Palace not offer PayPal as a reward option?
(Asked by Fester)
Many of our advertisers do not allow for cash incentives. PayPal and personal checks fall into this category.
Can we make more than one account?
(Asked by ashishgarg19)
You’re only permitted to have one account on the website. Having more can result in a banning of all of your accounts.
Could someone be banned if they checked/signed in from an IP/computer based in another country (while on vacation)?
(Asked by Doroffee)
Not typically, but if you’re constantly pinging around the globe in short spans of time, offer companies might block you for suspicious behavior.
Will you all update the Hall of Looters with new categories, such as “Greatest Looters of all time” to represent people with the most lifetime earnings?
(Asked by LadyJoeLove)
The Hall of Looters is an on-going project and we’ll continue to add new leaderboards to it.
Can you create a way for us to earn points while being physically active (like what I said in the “new ways to earn plunder points” forum)?
(Asked by R2-D2)
As much as I’d love to be able to encourage people to be active by awarding them with Plunder Points, this isn’t something we can see us adding anytime soon. You might want to check out Earnedit, a website that kind of does what your suggestion was.
How about having a video’s page just for watching videos all day long.
(Asked by Gatorules78)
Can’t say much, but something like this is already on the way, expected to be released later this year.
Why are the RadioLoyalty and HyperMX offers not available to members outside of the US, UK, Canada, and Australia?
(Asked by Josie91)
Country restrictions are created by the advertisers, we don’t have a specific reason as to why some countries are allowed and others are not. It’s based around each offer’s purpose and target audience.
Is there going to be any gift card promotion or discounted gift cards?
(Asked by Tron)
Traditionally we’ve done some type of deal for Black Fridays (the end of November), so I think it’s safe to say you’ll see something again this year.
I enter all the surveys expecting to get plunder points then it says on every single one that I am not the person they were looking for, and then I don’t get the plunder points in the end.
(Asked by isabella123)
A lot of people begin a survey, and assume the first set of questions is the actual survey. Those questions are pre-qualification questions, to make sure you are fit for the survey.
For example, A survey created for male adults is certainly going to reject a female of any age. You don’t get points for taking the pre-survey questionnaire, nor should you expect to. Surveys are made to collect information from a certain demographic to help with research. If you aren’t interested in trying to help out with research, just avoid surveys and you’ll be fine.
That about wraps it up. If you didn’t get a chance to ask a question, I encourage you to leave one in the comments and we’ll make sure to get back to you. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this post and to our growing community. Anyone who contributed above received 50 Plunder Points today labeled “Content Contributor” in your points log.
